Castlebar Community Radio

Castlebar Community Radio, known as CRCfm, began broadcasting on 30 June 1995. Its community-based schedule mixes music with current affairs, education, health, sport and cultural programmes. The station describes music choices ranging from pop and country to classical, traditional and jazz, alongside projects addressing literacy and access to learning. Volunteers contribute programmes and receive broadcasting training. CRCfm serves Castlebar and the surrounding area on 102.9 FM, with online and smart-speaker listening also available. Its studios are on Thomas Street in Castlebar. The organisation brings together community members, voluntary groups and local agencies, and publishes phone, email and WhatsApp details for listener contact.
