RTÉ Radio 1

RTÉ Radio 1 brings together news, current affairs, conversation, arts and music from Ireland’s public service broadcaster. Its programme range includes Morning Ireland, Liveline, Drivetime and News at One, alongside interviews, documentaries and drama. The station also makes room for sport, rural life, history and the natural world, with dedicated programmes covering these subjects. Music is part of the wider schedule: specialist selections sit alongside presenter-led shows, while arts programmes cover books, theatre and other cultural work. Many programmes are available separately through RTÉ’s online listening service. Radio 1 can be heard on FM in Ireland and through the official internet stream. RTÉ lists its national FM band as 88–90 MHz; the former longwave 252 service has ended.
